Eileen R. Stauffer, 91, Berne, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 at Swiss Village. She was born to Tilman and Elma(Lehman) Steiner on March 8, 1922 in Adams County. She married Everett N. Stauffer on June 28, 1941.
Eileen was a homemaker and helped her husband on their dairy farm for many years. She also was employed in the Dietary Department at Swiss Village and enjoyed helping in the KinderHaus department. She was a member of the Berne Evangelical Church where she taught Sunday School. Special interests include: quilting, knitting, gardening, and loving her grand and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: a son, Stanley Stauffer of Decatur, daughter, Karen (Dennis) Rowell of Berne, brother, DeWayne Steiner of Decatur, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild
.Preceding in death are her parents, husband, 2 sons, Loren (Doris) Stauffer and Charles (Jo) Stauffer.
Funeral services are Friday, January 31 at 10:30 am at Swiss Village Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Thursday, January 30 from 2 to 7 PM at the village chapel. Officiating is Pastor Kent Fahl and Pastor Anita Rediger.
Burial is in the Evangelical Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Berne.
Preferred memorials are Gideons International &/or Swiss Village KinderHaus.
