L. Pearl Yoder, 95, Berne, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Swiss Village. She was the daughter of Ray and Marie(Ritenour)Butcher born on October 28, 1918. She married Marion Yoder on April 1, 1939 who is deceased.
Pearl was a member of the Cross
Community Church. She worked for Naas Food Co., Geneva as a lab technician for 30 years. She also was a waitress for the Coffee Shop and a clerk in the Swiss City Hardware. Pearl was an active member of the Berne Garden Club for many years. Special interests include; reading, traveling, ceramics, needlepoint, sewing, and gardening.
Survivors include: daughters, Carol (Jay) Stauffer of New Bremen,OH, Sharon (Max) Church Hurley of
Sugar Valley, GA., sons. Duane (
Jessica) Yoder of Decatur, Dean (Maria) Yoder of Geneva, sister Helen Augsburger of Berne, 10 grandchildren: Ron (Joni) Stauffer, Rob (Denise) Stauffer, Jeffery May, Yvette Weiland, Natalie (David) Spitler,
Dean (Laura) Yoder, Lee (Rina) Yoder, Joshua Yoder, Elijah Yoder, Matthew Yoder, 8 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 grandsons.
Funeral services are Wednesday, January 15 at 10:30 at the Cross Community Church,Berne with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home. Officiating is Pastor Chris Kruchkow.
Burial is in the MRE Cemetery, Berne.
Preferred memorials are to the Cross Community Church, Family Life Care &/or Swiss Village Samaritan Fund.
