Karen L. Sharp, 68, of rural Willshire, Oh., a devoted Christian mother passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born to John and Edna(Tumbleson) Mason on February 16, 1945 in Adams County. She married Anthony "Tony" Sharp on September 1, 1963.
She was a member of the First Missionary Church in Berne. Her church activities included; being a Sunday School teacher, a leader in the children's music department, a Bible School teacher, and member of the church choir. She was a partner with her husband in Sharp Farms Inc. serving as the bookkeeper. She loved music and sports and attended her grandchildren's activities in these areas. She and her husband celebrated with their family 50 years of marriage on Sunday, September 1.
Survivors include: her husband, Tony, sons; Daniel(Lana)Sharp of Berne, Douglas(Shelly)Sharp of Berne, Scott(Kelli)Sharp of Monroe, Jason
Sharp of Berne, brothers; Edward(Karen)Mason of Geneva, Jerry(Beverly) Mason of Carmel and a sister Jan(Daniel)Tomano of Berne, 10 grandchildren; Jordan, Jessica, Alyssa(Chris)Adams, Spencer, Carter, Kaela Sharp, Ethan and Tanycia Sharp, Zackari and Austyn Sharp, and 1 great- granddaughter, Danielle Christine Adams.
Preceding in death are her parents.
Funeral services are Thursday, September 12 at 10:00 am at the First Missionary Church, Berne with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Wednesday, September 11 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the church. Officiating are Pastors Mark Dill and Max Haines.
Burial is at the Springhill Cemetery, rural Berne.
Preferred memorials are to the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
