John P. Zehr, 85, Berne passed away July 23, 2013 at Swiss Village, Berne, He was born to Preston and Esther(Sprunger)Zehr on March 31, 1928 in Adams County. He married Betty Farlow on July 8, 1950.
John was a member of the First Missionary Church where he was a member of the church board being the mission treasurer and also taught Sunday school. He was a lithographer at Economy Printing and later for Johnston Printing in Bluffton. Special interests include reading and traveling.
Survivors include 2 daughters; Carol(Dan)Rupp of Fort Wayne, Jan(Dean)Meyers of Muncie, 4 grandchildren; Kristi(Scott)Gibson, Ryan(Stephanie)Rupp, Kyle(Casey)Meyers, Landon(Sara)Meyers, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death are his parents, wife, Betty, brother, Michael Zehr, and granddaughter, Natalie Meyers.
Visitation is Friday, July 26, from 1 to 3 pm at the First Missionary Church front vestible. Following visitation is the graveside service at the MRE Cemetery Chapel. Officiating is Pastor Max Haines.
Preferred memorials are to the First Missionary Church Missions &/or Swiss Village Samaritan Fund.
