Ted D. Lehman, 81, lifelong resident of Berne passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born to David and Olga(Flueckiger) Lehman on May 4, 1932. He married Gloria Reinhard on November 8, 1953

Ted was a member of the First Mennonite Church serving on the visitation committee.. He graduated from Berne High School in 1950 and shortly afterwards served two years in the Army at Camp Pickett, VA., and Fort Knox, KY.. He worked as a self-employed plastering contractor. Later worked for Habegger Builders, a maintenance technician for the Berne US Post Office, and post-retirement as a maintenance technician for Swiss Village Retirement Center, and as a courier for the First Bank of Berne. In 1971 Ted served a term on the Berne City Council. He was an avid sports fan and bowled for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria, daughter, Rosemari(Tad)Sinnock of Indianapolis, sister, Carmen Roth of Anchorage, AK., two grandchildren, Holly Byer of Newport, TN., Julie(Ryan)Hurt of Bryant, and six great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob ,Ethan Shults, Ashley Byer, Kayla, Renna Hurt.

Preceding in death are his parents, daughter, Pamela S.Byer, brothers; Richard L. Lehman, James B. Lehman, Reid O.Lehman and sister, Alice R. Neuenschwander

Funeral services are Wednesday, July 24, at 10:30am at the First Mennonite Church with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Tuesday, July 23 from 2 to 8 pm at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne.

Burial is in the MRE Cemetery , Berne.

Preferred memorials are to the
First Mennonite Church.
