Ned W. Liechty, 62, Berne, passed away on July 10, 2013 at Adams Memorial Hospital. He was born to Rolandes and Augusta(Wulliman) Liechty on May 10, 1951 in Adams County. He married Geney Caster on March 25, 1978.
Ned was a well known farmer and a member of the First Missionary Church in Berne. He was a member of the Berne Zoning Appeals Board and the Plan Commission for over 21 years. Ned was a church elder for a number of years and served on the local Foods Resource Bank board. Special interests included collecting and restoring antique tractors.
Survivors include his wife, Geney, sons; Nathan(Sheri)Liechty of Bluffton, Luke Liechty of
Berne, daughter, Elizabeth Liechty of Berne, sisters; Nancy Oyer of Berne, Rosetta(Gary)Habegger of Uniontown, OH., Sara(Paul) Compton of Franklin,
TN., Vivian(Michael)Haney of Mishawaka, brother, Gregg(Betty) Liechty of Berne and grandson, Grayson Liechty.
Preceding in death are his parents, brother-in-law, Russ Oyer, mother-in-law, Mary Ann Caster, and father-in-law, George Caster.
Funeral services are Monday, July 15 at 10:30 am at the First Missionary with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Sunday, July 14, from 2 - 8 pm at the church. Officiating is Pastor Don Williams and Pastor Larry Evans.
Burial is in the MRE Cemetery, Berne.
Preferred memorials are to Gideon's International &/or The Hope Center, Berne.
