Loren U. Sprunger, 84, Berne passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 at Swiss Village. He was born to Menno and Mae(Stauffer)Sprunger July 2, 1928 in Adams County. He married Doris Dick on July 4, 1950.
Loren was a member of the West Missionary Church. Over the years he taught Sunday School and served as Superintendent. He retired from Franklin Electric with 25 years of service. Loren was a DNR Hunter Education Instuctor. Being a nature enthusiast, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bird watching. Loren was active in the Berne Conservation Club and the St. Marys and Bluecreek Conservation Club. And he enjoyed sports and rooted for the Indiana Hoosiers.
Survivors include daughters; Wanda(Steven)Roush of Indianapolis, Patti(Jeff)Kiel of Raleigh, NC, and a son, Fred Sprunger of Berne, brother, Paul Sprunger and a sister, Evelyn Hart both of Berne. Also 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Preceding in death are his parents, wife, brothers, Weldon and Leland Sprunger and sisters, Areta Bishop and Janice Hoffman.
Funeral services are Sunday, April 28 at 1:30 pm at Swiss Village with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Saturday from 4 to 9 pm at Swiss Village. Officiating is Keith Rupp.
Burial is in the St. Luke's Cemetery, rural Decatur.
Preferred memorials are to Swiss Village Samaritan Fund, Family Life Care, and/or Berne Conservation Club.
