Lester Zimmerman, 94, Berne, entered heaven from his residence on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 5:30 pm. He was born to Amos and Salome(Moser) Zimmerman on March 3, 1919 in Adams County and married Marjorie Bixler on May 16, 1942. They have been married for 70 years.

Lester was engaged in farming and worked at Swiss Plaza for 21 years. He drove school bus for Hartford Township Schools and South Adams Schools for 29 years. Les loved to sing and was a member of the Gospel Crusaders for 40 years and had Gospel radio programs for many years. He also was song leader for many revival meetings througout the area. He was a member of the Adams County Co-Op. Lester was also involved in church activities including church trustee and teaching Sunday School.

Survivors include his wife, daughter, Joyce(Bill) Harold of Berne and sister, Neva Skinner of Florida.

Preceding in death are brothers; Norman and Clarence Zimmerman, sisters; Sylvia Aupperle, Lillian Hara, and Ella Burry.

Funeral services are Tuesday, March 19 at 10:30 am at the West Missionary Church with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Monday from 4 to 8 pm at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home. Officiating is Pastor Keith Rupp.

Burial is in the Alberson Cemetery, rural Linn Grove, IN
