Dwight L. "Whitey" Dailey, 81, Geneva, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. He was born to Herbert and Eathel(Evans)Dailey on January 1, 1932 in Adams County. He married Carol Heeter on August 18, 1973.
Whitey was an employee of Dunbar Furniture and later retired from McIntosh Corp with 28 years of service. He was a decorated veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. His special interests were enjoying the outdoors, in particular, gardening and landscaping; dart throwing and vacationing in Florida.
Survivors include; his wife, sons; Randy(Theresa)Dailey of Fort Wayne, Michael(Becky)
Dailey of Goshen, Scott(Jill)Dailey of Amelia, OH; step-daughter, Carol Lynne(Nicholas)Arthur of Pendleton, step-son, William(Brenda)Stolz of Pennville; sisters; Esther(Harold)Young of Bryant and Marcella(Ben)Sipe of Geneva, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death are his parents, brothers; Orville, Donald, and Lloyd Dailey; sisters; Edna Hunt, Mamie Bauer, Betty Pugh, Treva Yost, Deloris Sprunger, and Naomi Rigby.
Funeral services are Tuesday, March 12 at 11 AM at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Monday, March 11 from 3 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Officiating is Pastor Chris Kruchkow.
Burial is in the Riverside Cemetery, Geneva with full military rites by Berne Post #468
