Viola Dennison, 95, Berne, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 at Swiss Village, Berne. She was born to Daniel and Barbara (Liechty) Habegger on November 25, 1917 in Adams County. She married Claude Dennison on November 10, 1945.

Viola was a member of the Cross Community Church where she played the organ for 41 years and was a member of the Dorcas Circle. She was a 4-H leader and a member of the "Good Neighbors" Homemaker Club. She also belonged to the Adams Central School PTA organization. Viola was employed at the Berne Winner House, Walt's Super Dollar, Nass Foods, and Decatur G.E. Co.

Survivors include 3 daughters and 1 son; Edith (Neill) VonGunten of Winnipeg, Canada, Arlene Nicodemus, Diane (J.Steven) Amstutz both of Monroe, and son, James (Janet) Dennison of Berne. Also 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Preceding in death is her husband , sisters; Rachel Inniger, Helen Schrock, Frieda Habegger, and Martha Mazelin; brothers; Martin, Sylvan, Milo, Daniel, Jacob, and Noah Habegger.

Funeral services are Sunday, March 3 at 2:00 PM at the Cross Community Church with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Saturday from 2 to 8 pm at the Swiss Village Chapel. Officiating are Pastor Chris Kruchkow and Pastor Max Haines.

Burial is in the Mazelin Cemetery, rural Berne.

Preferred memorials are to the church &/or Family Life Care.
