On Monday, January 21, 2013, Rev. Randall P. Luther, 68, went from his home in Berne to his eternal heavenly home. He was born on February 4, 1944, in Brookville, PA, to Rev. Elmer Paul Luther and Alberta (Barr) Luther. He was married to Carol (King) Norton on November 10, 1990.

He graduated fom Reynoldsville-Sykesville High School in Pennsylvania and received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He studied at Princeton University and received his M.Div. from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C. while serving student pastorates. He was ordained in 1974 in the United Methodist Church and later was affiliated with the United Church of Christ. During the past seven years, he has held standing in the Evangelical Association of Reformed and Congregational Christian Churches. He was priveleged to share the gospel in churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio and retired from the Cross Community Church in Berne, where he had served for ten years. He was a member and past president of the Berne Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Randall (Patty) Luther of Marysville, OH; one daughter, Elizabeth (Shawn) McGue of Lima, OH.; two step-sons, Chris (Maureen) Norton of Hudsonville, MI, and Kenneth (Carla) Norton of Madison, WI; nine grandchildren, Isaac, Grace and Henry Luther, Lauren and Ryan McGue, Emmy, Brendan, Will, and Maggie Norton; one brother, Dennis (Suzanne)Luther of Bedford,PA and one sister, Diane Luther of Youngsville, PA, one aunt, Jane Domres, Brookville, PA, and one uncle, Van Luther of Jamestown, NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are Friday, January 25 at 11 a.m. at the Cross Community Church with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Thursday from 3 to 8 PM at the church. Officiating is Pastor Chris Kruchkow. Burial will be at the Temple Cemetery in Hazen, PA.
