Naomi V. Von Gunten, 94, Berne, passed away October 30, 2012 at Swiss Village. She was born to Caleb and Ottelia(Sprunger) Sprunger on October 2, 1918 in Adams County. She married Sherman Von Gunten on July 4, 1937 in Berne.
Naomi was a member of the First Mennonite Church where she was a member of Women in Mission. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading, and caring for flowers.
Survivors include a son, Roger(Bonnie) Von Gunten of Berne, a foster son, Richard Sudduth of Fort Loramie, OH, daughters, Neva(Derryle) Pharr of Berne, Sueann(John) Alter Von Gunten of Elkhart, also 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Preceding in death are her parents, her husband, sons, Kenneth(Sara)
Von Gunten and Dean(Marcia) Von Gunten, brother, David Sprunger, sisters, Laura Kirchhofer, Lillian Fox, and Bernice Bell.
Funeral services are Sunday, November 4 at 2:00 pm at the First Mennonite Church with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Saturday from 3 to 8 pm at the Swiss Village Chapel. Officiating is Pastor Jeff Linthicum.
Burial is in the MRE Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the First Mennonite Church Mission Festival.
