Loren L. Stauffer, 70, Decatur, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Woodcrest of Decatur. He was born to Everett and Eileen (Steiner) Stauffer on March 3, 1942. Loren married Doris Daniel on April 14, 1965.
Loren was a member of the Berne Evangelical Church. He was employed at Indiana University, Bloomington and later at Berco in Berne. He was a Veteran of the Viet Nam War. His special interests include gardening, was an avid sports fan rooting for IU and the St. Louis Cardinals, and was a friend to all dogs.
Survivors include his mother, his wife, a son, Steven (Krista) Stauffer of Walbridge, OH, and daughters Becki (Keith) Dilley of Decatur and Veronica Stauffer of Indianapolis, a brother Stanley Stauffer of Dectur and sister, Karen Rowell of Berne. Also 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Preceding in death are his father and brother Charles Stauffer.
Funeral services are Thursday, October 18 at 10:00 am at the Berne Evangelical Church with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Wednesday from 2 to 8 pm at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home. Officiating is Pastor Ken Fahls.
Burial is at the Evangelical Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the Best Friends Animal Society.
