On Sunday, October 7, 2012 ,Marguerite L. "Kitty" Von Gunten, 92, Berne, went to be with her heavenly father on her 92nd birthday. She was born to Frank and Joanna (Suman) Kitson on October 7, 1920. She married Paul Von Gunten on September 12, 1941.

She was a member of the First Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School, was a member of Women in Mission, and was on the charter committee that started children's church. Kitty was an elementary secretary and later treasurer for South Adams Schools for many years. She and her husband volunteered at Camp Gilead in Florida for 20 years and also was a Cub Scout Leader. Kitty especially enjoyed her grand and great- grandchildren, crocheting, needlepoint and traveling.

Surviving are her husband, sons, Stephen (Alona) Von Gunten of Toledo, OH, Ronald (Lois) Von Gunten of Vermilion, OH, Lee (Carla) VonGunten of Bluffton and a daughter, Ruth (Arland) Reinhard of Bluffton, a sister, Patricia Brunnegraff of Coshocton, OH. Also 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and step mother Thelma Kitson.

Preceding in death are her father, mother, and brothers Herbert and Lloyd Kitson.

Funeral services are Saturday, October 13, at 10:30 am at the Swiss Village chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also on Friday from 3 to 8 pm at Swiss Village Chapel. Officiating are Pastors Jerry Flueckiger and Jeff Linthicum.

Burial is in the MRE Cemetery, Berne

Preferred memorials are to First Mennonite Church.
