Edward Diaz, 87, of New Lenox, Il., passed away at 6:30 am Wednesday,
September 19, 2012 at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, Il.. He was born on October 22, 1924 in Chicago, Il. to Rodgrio and Herlinda (Agulari) Diaz. He was married on November 11, 1944 to Mary Flores.
He attended St Jude
Catholic
Church in New Lenox, Il. and was a truck driver for many years. He collected coins and enjoyed baseball, espcially the Chicago White Sox.
He is survived by a son, Robert Diaz of South Holland, Ill.: two daughters, Dorothy F. Marnell of Matteson, Ill., Gloria J. Tomchek of New Lenox, Ill.; niece, Mary Ann Solano Tilbury of Berne; two two nephews, Reuben Solano of Berne; and David Solano of California; six grandchildren, Lisa Parks, Becci Diaz, Stephanie Diaz, Michael and Brian Marnell, and Frank Kozlowski; and seven great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and five brothers and a sister.
Uncle Eddie was very loved, funny, and giving, and his niece will miss him so very much-Mary Ann Solano Tilbury.
Visitation is one hour prior to the 1:00 pm funeral service on Friday, September 21 at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne. Officiating is Dr. Wayne F. Steury. Burial is in the MRE Cemetery, Berne.
