Spc Nicholas A. "Nick" Taylor, 20, Berne, died on Monday, July 16, 2012, representing the Indiana National Guard in the country of Kandahar Providence, Afghanistan. He is the son of Tim and Stephania (Montjoy) Taylor of Berne born on October 24, 1991.
Nick was a member of the First Missionary Church. He was a South Adams graduate and participated in football, track, and wrestling. He was a model student and exhibited a positive influence on everyone he was around. His future plans were to attend IPFW, Fort Wayne majoring in Criminal Justice.
Survivors include his parents, brother, Drew and sisters Holly and Sophia all of Berne. Also grandparents Wilbur and Linda Taylor of Berne and Rosemary Scherrer of Berne and Larry Montjoy of Ceylon, and great-grandmother Betty Scherrer of Geneva.
Funeral services are Tuesday, July 31 at 11 AM at the South Adams H.S. Gymnasium. Visitation on Monday, July 30 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the S.A. H.S. gymnasium. Officiating are Pastor Jim Schwartz and Pastor Max Haines.
Burial at the M.R.E. Cemetery, Berne, IN. with full graveside military rites.
