Evelyn Louise Miller, 81, died Friday, May 11, 2012, at Swiss Village in Berne, Indiana. Evelyn was born November 12, 1930 in Berne to the late Ralph and Bertha (Spichiger) Miller. She is survived by a sister, Mildred O'Brien of Tuscon, Arizona, a brother, Lewis (Mary) Miller, Tiffin, Ohio, two nieces Gretchen (Ken)Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio and Sarah Miller of Cleveland, Ohio, a grandnephew, Spencer Johnson and a grandniece, Erika Johnson both of Cincinnati.

Evelyn lived during her life in Berne, Hartford Township, and Fort Wayne. She graduated as salutatorian from Hartford Township High School in 1948. Evelyn took vocal music lessons and sang extensively as a soloist, and in ensembles, and choirs throughout the Berne area. She worked in accounting and bookkeeping for the Adams County Co-op in Berne and Monroe, Central Soya and Envelope Services in Fort Wayne.

Evelyn was a member of Cross United Church of Christ in Berne. She enjoyed all music, especially singing, genealogy, reading, antiques, and Indiana sports. She enjoyed nature and liked driving to the Loblolly to observe wildlife. She particularly enjoyed the geese and wildlife at Swiss Village.

A funeral service service for Evelyn will be held in the Swiss Village chapel on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:00am with Pastor Timothy Price officiating. Friends may meet the family during one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the MRE Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in memory of Evelyn to either Cross United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 145, Berne, IN or to Swiss Village, 1350 W. Main St., Berne, IN.
