Helen J. Neuenschwander, 84, Berne, passed away Wednesday, March 28, in Ft. Wayne. She was born to George and Beatrice(Miller) Franks on October 10, 1927. She married Claren J. Neuenschwander on August 31, 1946, who is deceased.
Helen was a member of the First Mennonite Church where she served on the historical and kitchen committees, and sang in the choir. She was a former employee of South Adams Schools, Gerbers Grocery, and Faith & Life Book Store. She volunteered at the Red Cross Blood Mobile and the Berne Public Library geneology department. Special interests include: her family, grandchildren, crocheting, and needlework.
Survivors include, a son Steven Neuenschwander, Ft. Wayne, daughters, Karen(Daryl) Martin, Berne, Nancy(James) Boyles, Berne and 6 grandchildren Also a sister, Ruth Lykins, Portland, brothers, Fred Franks, Portland, and George Franks, Frostproof, Florida.
Preceeding in death are her husband, a son, Gary Wayne, and 2 brothers, Charles and Robert Franks.
Memorial services are Saturday, April 7, 10:30am at the First Mennonite Church with visitation one half hour prior to services. Visitation also Friday from 4-8 pm at the Swiss Village Chapel. Officiating are Pastor Anita Rediger and Marie Nussbaum.
Graveside services on Saturday, April 7, at 9:30 am at the MRE Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to Swiss Village Alpenrose department.
