Edith Elizabeth Miller, 89, Berne passed away on Friday, January 28 at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born on March 1, 1922, to John J. and Eltie LaVerne Rose Habegger in Adams County. She married Maurice Edward Miller on April 20, 1941.
She lived in Blue Creek Township all of her life as a homemaker. As a member of the Adams County Historical Society, she supplied many volunteer hours at the museum. Edith was a member of Salem Community Church (previously Salem UM) and its women's group, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and served in various leadership roles in the church.
Surviving are her husband, a son, Roger D. of Berne, formerly of Fort Wayne, and a daughter, Nancy Rose (Don) Egley of Decatur. There are also two granddaughters, Kami R. Miller(Ed) Ulmer of Henniker, New Hampshire, and Mary Jo "Jody" Egley (Quinn) Hirschy of Fort
Wayne, twin sister Elsie Affolder, Berne, and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a son, Wayne Edward, two brothers, Ralph and Howard Habegger, and a sister, Marjorie Daughtery.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Janurary 31, 10:30 am at the Swiss Village Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also on Monday, January 30 from 4-8 pm at Swiss Village. Officiating are Pastor James Compton and Pastor Anita Rediger.
Burial will be in the Backesto (Springhill) Cemetery, rural Berne.
Preferred memorials are to Swiss Village or Salem Community Church
