Sylvester R. "Vet" Whitenack, 75, Fremont passed away at his home on January 9, 2012. He was born to Benjamin and Hazel Ross(Ross) Whitenack on February 13, 1936. He married Helen(Galloway) Whitenack on July 3, 1955.
Vet was a machinist at CTS Corp in Berne for 30 years. Later, he worked for Simon Step Company. While a member at the Grace Bible Church , he served as a trustee and sound technician. Presently, he attended the Fairview Missionary Church, Angola. He also enjoyed fishing at Jimmerson Lake.
Survivors include his wife, and daughters, Teresa(Wasa) Sakamoto, Santa Monica, California, Julie Lauletta, Ft. Wayne, and Carol(Jack) Shumaker, LaOtto, In. A brother, Weldon Whitenack, Washington, Iowa. 8 grandchildren.
Preceded in death are his parents, a son, David Ross and brother, Merrill Whitenack, and half brothers Edward, Chet, Dorwin, True, and Elvin Whitenack. And sisters, Ruth Spies, Lois Felty, and Leah Hoffman.
Funeral services are Saturday, January 14 at 11 am at the West Missionary Church with visitation from 9am to time of services. Officiating is Pastor Keith Rupp.
Burial at the Bluff Point Cemetery near Portland, Indiana.
