Lois J. Lehman, 87, Berne, passed away Monday, November 14 at Swiss Village. She was born to Werner B. and Florence (Teeters) Lehman.

She was a retired teacher and librarian. Lois was a graduate of Berne High School and Wheaton College. She held masters degrees in English and Library and Information Science from Indiana University. She taught at Huntington College and Berne-French High School among other places. She served as a missionary teacher in Sierra Leone, West Africa, and a Director of Instructional Materials in the South Adams Schools. She also served as a librarian at Indiana University, Virginia Beach, Virginia from which she retired in 1994. After retiring she traveled widely, helping libraries in Bible colleges and seminaries in developing countries.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Berne, Delta Kappa Gamma, and Beta Phi Mu.

Surviving are one sister, Joan Koos of Decatur, one nephew, Alan Foust of Evansville, and five nieces,Pamela (Koos) Hakes and Nancy (Koos) Loshe of Decatur, Lee Ann (Foust) Egan of Schererville, Kim (Stalnaker) Baker, off Fishers, and Jan(Stalnaker) Scott of Brownsburg, and 10 great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters, Nancy Jane Lehman, Sarabelle Foust, and Betty Stalnaker.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 18, at 2 PM at the Trinity United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to services. Officiating is Pastor Mark Harris. Visitation also Friday morning from 9 to 11 Am at Swiss Village Chapel.
