O. Duane "Skeezix" Sprunger, 68, Berne passed away Tuesday evening at Adams Memorial Hospital. Duane, born February 12, 1943 was the son of the late Arthur and Leola (Simon) Sprunger.
He married Connie (Harshman) Sprunger on March 17, 1969.

Skeezix was a member of the West Missionary Church and the Berne Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years. He was self employed and was engaged in farming. A former owner of the Poplar Drive-In Restauarnt, a bus driver for South Adams Schools for 30 years, an EMT, and worked for Tax Aid.

Duane is survived by his wife, Connie, 3 sons and 1 daughter. Randy (Laura) Harris, Berne, Doug (Cheryl) Harris, Monroe, Tom (Kristina) Sprunger, Bluffton, and a daughter, Angela "Toots" (Matt) Teeter, Berne. A sister, Suzie Roudebush, Berne. Also 13 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Arnold Sprunger and his parents.

Funeral services are Saturday, July 23, at 10:30 AM at West Missionary Church with visitation an hour prior to services.

Visitation Friday, 12 noon to 8 PM at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne. Officiating is Pastor Keith Rupp and burial at the Stahl Cemetery, Petroleum.

Preferred memorials are to the Berne Volunteer Fire Department &/or South Adams Schools Wrestling Program.
