Louneta Bixler, 90, Monroe, Indiana, passed away on
Tuesday, June 21, at Woodcrest, in Decatur.

Louneta was born on October 25, 1920 in Adams County to Osia and Mathilda "Tillie"(Moser) Von Gunten, both deceased. She married Glenn Bixler on January 6, 1940 and he preceded her in death.

Louneta was a member of the
First Mennonite Church. She was co-owner of Bixler Cheese House, Berne and was employed at the Palmer House Restaurant. Her interests include crocheting, reading, bird watching, playing cards, and singing in the "Messiah".

Survivors include 2 sons and a daughter. Sheldon(Karen) Bixler, Ft. Wayne, Von(Ruth) Bixler, Decatur, and Raelene(Rick) Hirschy, Monroe. 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by a son, Leonel Bixler and 2 brothers, Edward and Sherman Von Gunten.

Funeral services are Sunday, June 26 at 2 pm at the First Mennonite Church with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Officiating is Pastor Jerry Flueckiger.

Visitation at the funeral home on Saturday, June 25, 3 to 8 pm.

Preferred memorials are to the First Mennonite Church and/or Donars Choice.
