Abraham (Abe) Lehman, age 99,a resident of Berne, Indiana passed away at 1:30 am on May 25, 2011 at Swiss Village in Berne, Indiana.He was born January 20, 1912 to Otto and Hulda(Habegger) Lehman. On June 24,1934 he married Rachel Amstutz who preceded him in death on October 23, 1989.

Abe is survived by three children, Dr. John Lehman of Highland, Wisconsin; Angela Hartman of Geneva; and Kathleen McCain of Indianapolis; five grndchildren , one great-grandchild, one brother, Tom Lehman, of Wolcottville, and two half sisters,Mrs. (Betty) Von Gunten, of Decatur and Bonnie Breauchy of Beerne.

Preceding him in death are his parents, his brother, Eldon Lehman, and four sisters, Clorinda Yoder, Katherine Amstutz, Rhoda Gerber, and Earnestine Bixler.

Abe was self-employed as a farmer for many years and retired from Lehman Heating & Plumbing.

He and his wife enjoyed spending winters at Camp Gilead, Polk City, Florida where they volunteered for various camp building maintenance projecs.He was a member of the First Mennonite Church.

Family and friends will be received from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Tuesday,May 31 at the Swiss Village Chapel and the funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm. Officiating are Chaplain Anita Rediger and Pastor Tom Miller. He will be laid to rest at the M.R.E. Cemetery in Berne .
