Lloyd E. Perry, 88, a resident of Geneva, Indiana passed away at 7:27 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at his residence.
Lloyd was born on August 24, 1922 in New Palestine, Indiana the son of Kenneth and Edna (Lee) Perry, both deceased. He married Marjorie A. Krieg on October 4, 1942 and she survives.
Lloyd was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Berne. He was a World War II United States Army Veteran and Bronze Star recipient serving in the European Theater as part of the 14th Armored Division. He was also a member of the Berne American Legion Post #468.
Lloyd was a retired employee of the J.C. Penney Company where he worked in management in Shelbyville, Indiana, DeKalb, Illinois, Macomb, Illinois, and Albia, Iowa. He was a member of the Annual Conference of United Methodists and was a former president of the Kiwanis Club in Macomb, Illinois. Lloyd was a collector of horse bridle bits and enjoyed traveling and the outdoors.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Marjorie Perry of Geneva; a son, Dr. Randall (Kandi) Perry of Normal, Illinois; a son, Rick (Robin) Perry of Salisbury, North Carolina; a son, Dr. Roger (Joye) Perry of East Moline, Illinois; and a daughter, Elaine (Richard) Monroe of Geneva. Other survivors include grandchildren; Camarra (Mike) Yates, Jeffery Willey, Rachel, Rebecca, and Nathan Perry, Russell (Liz) Perry, Raegan, Raelynn, Samuel, and Levi Perry, and great-grandchildren; Michael and Madisyn Willey and Sedona and Wyatt Yates.
Lloyd was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Willis.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Berne with the Pastor Mark Harris officiating. Interment will be in the Westlawn Cemetery in Geneva. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Berne American Legion Post #468.
Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Sunday.
Preferred memorials are to Family Hospice of Northeast Indiana or the Trinity United Methodist Church.
