Elizabeth M. “Beth” Reiners, 80, a resident of Berne, Indiana passed away at 1:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Swiss Village Retirement Community in Berne.
Beth was born on November 3, 1930 in Kiel, Wisconsin the daughter of Alfred and Ellanora (Graf) Oesau, both deceased. She married Harry R. Reiners on June 1, 1949 and he survives.
Beth was a member of the Cross United Church of Christ in Berne and was a member of the Dorcas Circle. She attended Mission House College. Beth was a homemaker, a former employee of the White Cottage Restaurant in Berne, a former employee of Swiss Village, and was a bookkeeper for the Geneva Co-Op. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, and was especially devoted to her children and grandchildren.
Beth is survived by her husband, Harry Reiners of Berne; a son, Michael Reiners of Berne; a son, Dr. Andrew Reiners of Indianapolis; a daughter, Amy West of Berne; a daughter, Maria (Tony) Anderson of Berne; a sister, Frances Huenemann of Springfield, Virginia; and a sister, Joan Canning of Boise, Idaho. Other survivors include grandchildren; Erika (Joshua) Luster, James and David West, and Dylan and Alyssa Anderson.
Beth was preceded in death by a son, Paul Reiners, a daughter, Ann Reiners,& a grandson, Tyson Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Swiss Village Chapel with the Pastors Anita Rediger and Timothy Price officiating. Interment will be in the M.R.E. Cemetery of rural Berne.
Family and friends will be received from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at Swiss Village.
