Juanita Emberlin, 88, a resident of Berne, Indiana passed away at 10:15 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Indiana.
Juanita was born on December 12, 1922 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the daughter of Odie and Doris (Woods) Murrell, both deceased. She married Delphos J. Emberlin on October 24, 1939 in Elkhart, Indiana and he preceded her in death.
Juanita was a member of the First Missionary Church in Berne. She was a former secretary at Home Dairy and later DJ Equipment, both of Berne. She was an avid reader who loved her family, gardening, sewing, and knitting.
Juanita is survived by a daughter, Joyce Ratliff of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a son, Donald (Karen) Emberlin of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Other survivors include sisters, Norma Skinner of Fort Wayne; Bonnie Roeble of Fort Wayne; and a brother, David Murrell of Troy, Michigan.
Juanita was preceded in death by a brother Elmo Murrell and sister Geraldine Burry.
A private family funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne with Pastor Max Haines officiating. Interment will be in the M.R.E. Cemetery of rural Berne.
Family and friends will be received from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 22 at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home.
