Rev. Arthur B. Neuenschwander, 86, a resident of Forest, Virginia and a former Berne, Indiana resident, passed away Monday morning, January 24, 2011 in Forest, Virginia.
Arthur was born on October 10, 1924 in French Township in Adams County, Indiana the son of Homer E. and Frances (Gerber) Neuenschwander, both deceased. He married Darlene(Sprunger) deceased in 1952. He then married Mildred Stucky on November 7, 1952 and she preceded him in death in 2006.
Arthur was a member of the Forest Baptist Church in Forest, Virginia. He attended Fort Wayne Bible College and was a Pastor for forty-five years. Arthur was the Director of Doctrines of Grace Bible Conference of the Midlands since 1979 and editor of the Doctrines of Grace Bulletin since 1975.
Arthur is survived by a son, Marc Neuenschwander of Sheridan, Indiana; a son, Jon (Lisa) Neuenschwander of Westminster, Colorado; a daughter, Peggy (Donald) Fowler of Forest, Virginia; a brother, Dallas Neuenschwander of Berne; and a brother, Dwight Neuenschwander of Folsom. California. Other survivors include five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Arthur was preceded in death by a son, Phil Neuenschwander and his first wife, Darlene (Sprunger) Neuenschwander.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne with the Pastor Bruce Branson officiating. Interment will follow in the Evangelical Mennonite Cemetery of rural Berne.
Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral service at Yager-Kirchhofer on Sunday.
