Jean S. Reynolds

Jean Sharon “Jeanie” Reynolds died peacefully at her home in Berne on Friday, August 18, 2023, she was 81.  Jeanie was born in Bluffton Indiana to Donald “Don” and Beatrice “Bea” Grove on June 5, 1942.  She was the third child for the couple, Jeanie was preceded in death by two brothers who died in infancy.

Jeanie graduated from Berne French High School in 1960.  That was where she met the love of her life, Thomas W. “Tom” Reynolds.  Jeanie began to follow her passion after graduation. Jeanie enrolled in beauty school in Fort Wayne to study beauty culture and become a beautician.

Jeanie and Tom became the first couple to get married in the newly completed First Missionary Church on June 29, 1963.  After graduation from beauty school Jeanie opened and operated her own beauty shop in Berne for ten years.   In 1973, Tom and Jeanie adopted their only child, a daughter they named Lori Ann Reynolds.

Jeanie was blessed to have a long life full of family and good friends.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, Donald and Beatrice Grove, her Aunt Maine (Garton) Harter, Her Uncles Bill Garton, Don Garton, and Wayne Garton, her In-laws O. Woodrow Reynolds and Martha “Mart” Reynolds, her bother-in-law Bill Reynolds, her husband Thomas W “Tom” Reynolds,

Jeanie is survived by her daughter, Lori Ann Reynolds, her Sister-in-Law Sally Reynolds, her four nephews and their families, her Aunt Roberta Arnold and Aunt Jo (Barton) Barnell, her cousins Jerry Arnold, Terry Arnold, Robert Harter, Betty (Harter) Dellinger, Tony Garton, Bruce Garton, Dawn (Garton) Burchett, Cindy (Garton) Davis, Ted Garton, Kathy (Garton) Hart, Dave Barnell, and Joyce Barnell.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne, Indiana. Burial will follow at M.R.E. Cemetery of Berne, Indiana.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2023, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne and one hour prior to service.

Memorial donations may be made to the family.
