Dorothy Katherine Dishong, 79 years old of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at her residence. Her death was unexpected. Dorothy was born on Sunday, August 11, 1929 in Michigan the daughter of the late Levi Herman Hill and the late Gladys Elizabeth (Spade) Hill. She married Earl E. Dishong on January 31, 1948 in Bluffton, Indiana and he passed away on March 3, 1976. Dorothy attended Ft. Wayne Baptist Church in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and was a homemaker. Surviving are her daughter, Donna (John) Hofrichter of Roanoke, Indiana; daughter, Emma Rorick of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Pat (Mark) Chalk of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Violet Deaton of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Joyce (Don) Schaab of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; son-in-law, Fred Habegger of New Haven, Indiana; sister, Mary Pratt of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Bertha Smith of Bluffton, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren: Tammy Spice, Matt Habegger, Megan Kraft, Mark Hofrichter, Amie Chapman, Lisa Rorick, Chad Rorick, Tony Chalk, Molly Chalk, Travis Lyons, Nicholas Voirol, Jessica Voirol, and Yvonne Sly; along with ten great-grandchildren: Heather Chapman, Tyler Chapman, Anna Chapman, Brianna Files, Fynn Hofrichter, Hudson Kraft, Brandon Blaine, Tye Cremins, Madeline Sly, and Logan Sly. Preceding Dorothy in death were one daughter, Ella Habegger; one son, Earl Ray Dishong; two brothers, Thomas Leroy Hill and Edward Hill; one sister, Martha Julia Hill; and one son-in-law, Jerry Deaton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana with Pastor Wungreiso Valui officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, Indiana. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. " 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and from 12:00 NOON " 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
